Dear Rotarians in 5890,
It’s already August! As Rotary’s Membership and New Club Development Month, it’s a great time to celebrate the members who make a lasting impact through service, while expanding Rotary’s reach. As I shared at the District Installation banquet, many people want to make a difference—they just don’t know about Rotary. By welcoming new members, engaging and retaining current members, and exploring opportunities to start new clubs, we strengthen our ability to serve and create lasting impact.
Collaborative Club visits continue through August and September. I encourage you to join these multi-club meetings to connect, share ideas, and strengthen our impact across the district and beyond.
When I look at Facebook, I see so much distrust, anger, and hate. As we approach the midterm elections and face acts of violence and natural disasters, I'm reminded of Rotary's vital role. Rotary stands for peace, environmental stewardship, and service beyond politics and religious differences. Now more than ever, we must focus on the good in the world and the lasting impact Rotarians make every day.
I look forward to seeing you at upcoming events and working alongside you as we continue to Create Lasting Impact.
Attention to all Motorcyclists! SAVE THE DATE for this year's Polio Plus Motorcycle Ride set for Saturday, October 10th, 2026, at 9:30am. We meet at Buc-ee's in Baytown at 9:30am. Kick stands up at 10:00am. We will ride the back roads to Mama Jack's cafe in Kountze for lunch and friendship. Then, return via the same back road route. Riders can separate and take their own route home as they see fit.

Join us on Saturday, October 24, World Polio Day,to walk for those who can't! It's a one mile walk and a big step toward a polio-free world. Invite fellow Rotarians, family, and friends and wear your Rotary attire to help raise awareness!
