Rotary's April Theme is
"Environment"
Governor's Corner
All Aboard for a Greener Future!

The Magic of Rotary isn't just about service—it’s about sustaining the world we serve. This month, our train makes a stop at a crucial station: Environmental Sustainability. Now, I know this topic doesn’t always get the heart racing like a high-stakes fundraiser or a thrilling polio eradication milestone, but stick with me—we’re about to sprinkle in some magic and make it come alive!

During my recent travels to Istanbul for the Presidential Peace Conference, a powerful truth was shared: a stable environment leads to a more peaceful world. When droughts, floods, and natural disasters threaten crops and water supplies, they also create instability, conflict, and suffering. But here’s the good news—through small, conscious efforts, we can be part of the solution.

Living in harmony with nature starts with simple choices. Take a deep breath of fresh air, feel the grass beneath your feet, and embrace the joy of the great outdoors. Whether it’s reducing our carbon footprint, discovering the healing properties of plants, or just stepping outside to appreciate the beauty around us, every action counts.

So here’s my challenge for you this month: grab a picnic basket, call a friend, and spend a day in the park. Reconnect with nature, recharge your soul, and remind yourself why protecting our environment is worth the effort. Our Skyliners have already been leading the way with their work along the Columbia Tap Trail, and our Alvin, Alvin-Sunrise, and North Shore clubs have outdoor festivals lined up—perfect opportunities to enjoy Rotary fellowship under the open sky!

And of course, our train keeps rollin’! Let’s keep visiting, connecting, and making an impact across the district. Don’t forget to secure your seat as we steam ahead to College Station next month—because you won’t want to miss what’s coming next!

See you soon, out in the fresh air and beyond!

double your impact!

THE MATCH IS BACK – DON’T MISS OUT!

Double your impact with a $500–$1,000 donation to The Rotary Foundation “Annual Fund-SHARE,” and the district will match your points to help you reach your first or next Paul Harris level. This is a limited-time opportunity to maximize your giving and your recognition in Rotary.

Consider making a $5,000 donation to reach the White Hat level and secure your entry into the White Hat drawing at District Conference. This drawing is for an actual White Hat to wear—one that symbolizes your commitment to making a difference through The Rotary Foundation.

But wait, there's more! Our District is showing its appreciation - for every $25 donation, you’ll earn a chance to win a trip to the Westin Lagunamar Resort in Cancun, Mexico (see the post below in this Newsletter). The trip dates are August 22–27, 2025.

Act now—this opportunity is only available until April 30, 2025.

Please note: The point match offer is not available to Major Donor Rotarians.
