2025-2026 Rotary District 5890 Global Grant Scholarship Applications Are Being Accecpted Now Through November 9, 2024!

We are pleased to announce that District 5890 will sponsor $30,000 Global Grant Scholars for the 2025-2026 Rotary year. Global Grant Scholarships support graduate-level study for career-minded professionals and are required to qualify under one of the seven Areas of Focus established by The Rotary Foundation. Although it is not required in the Global Grant structure, the District Foundation Leadership Team has decided to retain the ambassadorial nature of the scholarship program in District 5890.
Applicants must submit this application and all supplementary sheets completed in full to a Rotary club in District 5890.

SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER 2024
The scholarship materials and scholarship applications will be made available to the Rotary club presidents. Clubs then should develop a committee for interviewing and selecting a candidate. Clubs will conduct interviews based on a schedule that fits the needs of the clubs. Clubs must select one (1) candidate and notify all candidates of selection at the appropriate time. (If you had more than one candidate apply, it's important to give a courtesy call to the ones that weren't selected to thank them for applying and encourage them to apply again next year.)

Deadline To Submit Application to the District 5890 Global Grant Scholarship Committee
All Required Documents (see page 5 of the application form for address and contact info) must reach Scott Dyson, District Rotary Global Grant Scholarships Chair no later than November 9, 2024 (See pages 9, 11 or 13 of application for contact details)
Applicants are not to forward this application to The Rotary Foundation or to Rotary International.

District-Level Interviews To Select Scholarship Recipients
District interviews will be held in Houston, Texas for scholars wanting to begin study in 2025-26. If the candidate is unable to be interviewed in person that day, the applicant might not be eligible to receive a scholarship.
JANUARY 4, 2025
Global Scholar Elect Training Seminar (GSETS)
Scholars that have been selected at the District-Level Interview will undergo training to help them prepare for their academic year studying abroad. Attending this seminar, or one in another state, is mandatory prior to beginning the scholarship year.
