Come join us for another "Family of Rotary Event" - Gardening with the Governor at the Rotary Centennial Grove

All District 5890 Rotary Clubs and their family members are invited to participate in the third annual Gardening with the Governor, a Family of Rotary event, at Hermann Park on Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

District Governor Rhonda Kennedy and up to 100 Rotarians and guests, Interactors, and Rotaractors will be on hand to perform light gardening tasks in the Rotary Centennial Grove under the direction of the Hermann Park Conservancy staff.

Arrival by 9:30 a.m. is recommended in order to secure a parking space at the zoo or near the Sam Houston statue.  The Rotary Centennial Grove is located in Hermann Park's southwest corner.

Light work clothes and gloves are recommended.  A sweet treat and water will be provided.  Please bring a picnic lunch if you want heavier fare!

The Rotary Centennial Grove, dedicated in February 2005, was a two-year effort by 12 Rotary clubs to beautify and increase the usability of the then underdeveloped picnic grove.  The $100,000 project involved planting new trees, placing new picnic tables, and providing lighting fixtures and newly designed trash receptacles.
