Roses For Polio

Roses for Polio

District Governor Tom Kelchner has created a unique and easy fundraiser for The Rotary Foundation, Roses For Polio, where you can send a "virtual" rose to someone via Facebook, X (formerlyTwitter), or email.  It's a great way to save a child from polio & recognize someone by contributing $5 to The Rotary Foundation's PolioPlus Fund.

DG Tom's goal for "roses for polio" on Raise for Rotary

Raise a total of $10,000 for The Rotary Foundation's PolioPlus Fund!
You contribute via Rotary International's safe and secure online fundraising platform, Raise for Rotary, and it goes straight to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) since it is integrated with Rotary International's online giving system.  All donations will be matched 2:1 by the Gates Foundation.

YOUR DONATION, INCLUDING THE 3.5% COVER FEE IF YOU CHECK THAT BOX, WILL BE CREDITED TO YOUR PAUL HARRIS FELLOW ACCOUNT WITH ROTARY.  (Example:  $5 donation + $0.18 fee = $5.18 credited to your PHF account)
As long as you click "Yes" that you are a Rotarian when entering your donation and use the email address for other Rotary business, such as your My Rotary account on Rotary.org, then your contributions will be applied to your giving record with The Rotary Foundation.  You'll receive Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) credit and any applicable recognition.

Be A Polio Hero & Send Someone A "Virtual" Rose!

Be A Polio Hero!
A $5 contribution gives you a chance to say thank you or honor someone while also protecting a child from Polio.  Want to give more than one "virtual" rose?  Just donate $5 for each rose you want to donate and write each person's name in the section on the "Share" webpage.
  • Saving a child from Polio is PRICELESS!
  • Making a donation and sending someone a "virtual" rose is a powerful way to recognize them for a special occasion, their generosity, or their character.
Now you can do both with Roses for Polio!

rotary's dedication to the global eradication of polio

"Rotary was the first to envision a world without polio - and today, we have the tools and knowledge to make that vision a reality," said Bill Gates, Chair of the Gates Foundation.  "If we all maintain our commitment and keep funding the solutions we know work, then soon, no family will have to live in fear of this horrific disease ever again."

We’re doing so much more than eradicating polio - that's the "plus" in polioplus!

Rotary's PolioPlus program is also:
Providing clean water, preventing other diseases, medical treatment, Vitamin A drops, hygiene & material health, providing hand-operated tricycles for polio survivors, audio books in different languages about polio vaccinations, creating jobs, and more!
