Join us on Saturday, October 24, World Polio Day, to walk for those who can't! It's a one mile walk and a big step toward a polio-free world. Join fellow Rotarians, invite family, and friends and wear your Rotary attire to help raise awareness!
This is bigger than any one of us — Rotarians across Rotary Region 36 (Zones 25 & 29) — that's 36,620 Rotarians and 964 Rotaractors across 11 states and 2 countries are stepping up in the World's Largest Polio Walk, and we want YOU walking alongside us here in Rotary District 5890.
Minimum Pledge: Commit to donating at least $100 USD per year to the PolioPlus Fund of The Rotary Foundation until polio is officially eradicated.
Duration: Continue the annual contribution until the World Health Organization (WHO) officially certifies global polio eradication.
Recognition: Members receive a special PolioPlus Society membership pin and certificate (often presented by the club president), and donations count toward Paul Harris Fellow status.
Matching Funds: Donations made online via MyRotary or EndPolio.org are typically matched 2:1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which means your annual $100 becomes $300.
OCTOBER POLIO MATCH
From October 1 - 31, when you give $100 (the registration fee) to $500 to The Rotary Foundation "Polio Plus" fund, not only do you become a PolioPlus Society Member, District 5890 will credit you with an equal number of Paul Harris recognition points, moving you that much closer to your next Paul Harris recognition!
